On ‘The Impact’ — Native American school mascots, wolf killings

On “The Impact” this week: The State Board of Education recently requested that all Native American mascots and logos be changed. We head to one local school district to talk to teachers and students about what an identity change means for their community, and hear why the board feels it’s another way to help close the achievement gap for Native American students.

Death threats and emotional hearings – all over seven wolves being killed in Washington. Why the Department of Fish and Wildlife says killed the pack was the only option, and why critics say more should have been done long ago to stop the confrontations. What the state’s learned from this for next time.
