UW to freeze enrollment, according to UW VP

January 15th, 2009 by Niki Reading | Filed under Budget.

Randy Hodgins, interim vice president for external affairs at University of Washington, just told the House Education Appropriations Committee that UW will likely freeze its enrollment levels.

He said that would affect 300 to 400 students. That means 300 to 400 students who otherwise would have been admitted will be turned away.

He said those students will be asked to enroll in the following quarter, and their application fee at that time will be waived.

It only affects UW’s Seattle campus, not Tacoma or Bothell.

Details and a clip to come. Also: Watch tonight’s Legislative Review (at 11 p.m.) for more.
