Coming up at 3:30: Ways and Means to hold public hearing on increased unemployment benefit

In just a few minutes, the Senate Ways and Means Committee will consider Senate Bill 5319, which would increase unemployment benefits by $45 per week between May, 2009 and January 3, 2010.

I’m working on a post that will explain how the program will work — who will get money, how much, how soon, and how much it will cost the state. You’d be surprised how many ins and outs there are… I may not have it until tomorrow. In the meantime, please send your questions my way: nikis@tvw.org.
