Jay Manning to replace Cindy Zehnder as Gov. Gregoire’s chief of staff

Gov. Chris Gregoire announced today that Jay Manning, who currently heads the Department of Ecology, will replace Cindy Zehnder as chief of staff. Zehnder said this summer she was leaving the position.

He’ll report to work on Oct. 19.

Manning said in a press release that he’s excited for the challenges of the job. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to work with Gov. Gregoire on a wide array of issues that are important to all of us who live in Washington.”
