Today:

- The House voted to ban Bisphenol-A in baby and sports bottles, as well as food containers for children. The chemical has been linked to birth defects and diseases.

- Gov. Chris Gregoire urged federal lawmakers to pass health care reform soonest. She also said she’ll wait until after the Feb. 12 revenue forecast to discuss specific tax increase plans.

- The House Human Services Committee considered whether to ban field trips for certain violent mental health patients.

- The House Ways & Means Committee heard a bill to increase support for police officers who are disabled in the line of duty.

- They also considered whether there should be a 72-hour wait between when the budget is introduced and when it’s voted on.
