Should there be a 72-hour wait to vote on the budget?
January 25th, 2010 by Niki Reading | Filed under Uncategorized. The House Ways & Means Committee is considering a bill to require 72 hours between the time the budget is introduced and when it’s voted on.
“Most legislators don’t have time to read the budget,” said Brett Davis of the Evergreen Freedom Foundation. He said that means there’s a real possibility legislators could end up regretting their vote once they understand what they voted for.
The public hearing was short — only Davis and a couple others testified.
