Day 50: Let’s review

March 1st, 2010 by Niki Reading | Filed under Uncategorized.

Today:

- Is fiscal bill cut-off. Friday is the last day to read-in bills from the opposite house on the floor.

- Gov. Chris Gregoire said she likes the Senate spending plan and the House tax plan, so the two can marry and we can all go home.

- The House unveiled their five-part tax plan. Rep. Ross Hunter said in a press conference that the mostly permanent tax increases will address a once-in-a-century budget crisis.

- I posted a chart detailing some of the major similarities and differences among the three tax plans currently circulating.

- Tomorrow at 9 a.m., the House Finance Committee will hold a public hearing and vote on the five-part tax. You can watch live on TVW, and I’ll be blogging on it here. Rep. Hunter said they expect to vote on the bill on the House floor this week.
