This week on “The Impact”:

The legislature is considering several proposed laws related to the workplace. The bills address a range of topics: equal pay,  restrictions on   conversations about pay, and establishing new protections for employees impacted by domestic violence. Many of the bills came through the House Labor and Workplace Standards Committee. Committee members- Rep. Beth Doglio (D) and Rep. Gina McCabe (R) weigh in on a number of the proposals.

After years of controversy a decision from Governor Inslee could settle the debate about a proposal to build a major oil terminal at the Port of Vancouver. You’ll hear the governor’s decision and his rationale for the move and also the response from the project’s backers.

Then we highlight a $60 million lifeline for a massive flood protection and habitat restoration project in the Chehalis River Basin of southwest Washington. The catastrophic cycle of flooding there and the impact of habitat loss on salmon are the focus of TVW’s documentary High Water – Ten Years Later.
