This week on “The Impact”:

A state task force set up to recommend policies for self-driving cars meets for the first time this week in Olympia.  Autonomous vehicles have enormous potential, but they also raise big questions like where to assign blame after an accident.

“Was it the driver? Was it the vehicle? Was it the software? Was there a software upgrade available after purchase of the vehicle and that owner failed to have that software upgrade loaded? I mean there’s so many different things that could be in play,” said Brian Ursino, Law Enforcement Program Director for the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators.

Later we get an early look at the state’s new health care cost comparison website.

“It’s a big leap around transparency and health care,” said Marc Baldwin, Assistant Director, Forecasting Division, Office of Financial Management.

We’ll also tell you why a federal review means a major financial loss for the state’s largest mental health hospital.
